Dear friends. In this blog with my personal experience with my family I’m gonna suggest you for a proper and perfect plan to enjoy the beauty of Araku Valley and Vishakhapatnam (Vizag City)
We are from Hyderabad. We travelled with family in car. However we missed some important places due to unaware of places around we were travelling and also time didn’t support us to cover them. We had regular biryani’s and regular Hyderabad items there.
Where is Araku and Vizag?
Araku and Vizag are very popular tourism destinations in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Many travellers combine both destinations in a single trip due to their proximity and keeping expenses contrast in mind. Araku is a hill station and vizag is popular for its beaches.
How to reach Vizag
Vizag is a big city which is connected to Bay of Bengal sea. You can reach Vizag by train easily. I suggest Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Telangana travellers you can easily reach vizag by train..
If you’re starting from Hyderabad you have Falaknuma Expess, Vishakha Express, Vishakhapatnam Godavari Express, Vishakhapatnam SF Express. These trains drop you morning before 10 am.
Rooms in Vizag
The best accommodation you can find near railway station it would start around 800 to 2500 rupees. But before conforming accommodation you should check whether the rooms are clean and hygienic. And also check the room is near to railwaystation.
Where to eat in Araku and Vizag
It is better to avoid restaurants and inquire where you can get local fresh and hygienic food. There we have multiple options like sea food, pot biryani, special south Indian veg thalis. You can get suggestions by youtube food vlogs or any other social networking platforms.

Vizag City Tour
On Day 1 Start with RK Beach → Submarine Museum → VUDA Park → Kailasagiri → Simhachalam Temple. After completing these places just come back to your accommodation and take rest.
On Day 2 Visit Rushikonda Beach → Thotlakonda → Dolphin’s Nose → Indira Gandhi Zoological Park. By covering this you almost covered Vishakhapatnam. The above image is at Bheemili beach. Which is 12 kms to vizag.

How to reach Araku
Araku has trains from Vizag. This can be the one of the best experience you will cherish as memories forever. You must experience the journey to Araku from Vizag by train. You will go through 58 tunnels to reach araku. It is better to book your tickets earlier basis. Train name is Kirandul Express and it starts at 6:45 am from vizag and reaches by 11am.
Accommodation in Araku
Once you reach you can hire any autorikshaw or cab to reach your accommodation. If you didn’t book priorly you can ask them. As per our choice they will suggest and show accommodations like camping, huts, luxury rooms, valley views and other special accommodations.
Firstly check the rooms before making conformation. Specially when you choose huts or night camps check once whether washrooms available or not. If available check they are neat and clean before paying any advance.
Best time to visit Araku and Vizag
We inquired with local people and they suggested us to visit araku in from November to January. And they highly suggested to plan for Araku to see its beauty in December.
Places to see in Araku
On Day 1 start with Visit Coffee Plantations → Tribal Museum → Padmapuram Gardens.
The next day 2 Start with Borra Caves → Katiki Waterfalls → Galikonda Viewpoint.
Day 3 Explore Ananthagiri Hills → Chaparai Waterfalls.
Return to Vishakhapatnam
After exploring Araku you can come back to vizag by the same train which is available at 15:45 and 22:47.Best to catch 15:45 train so that you can reach Vizag by 20:10. After dinner book a room for that night and morning checkout for your return journey to origin.

In this article I suggested you can cover places vizag in 2 days and you can explore araku in 3 days. If you feel good you can extend your days of stay. By the end of this tour according this plan your Estimated total budget would be around if you go in High end budget Rs. 19100/- and if you go in Low end budget approximately 9200/-.
